Author Lucia Ellis
The book is the author’s account of her life using journaling and poetry. Her contemplations cover different topics of major interest to me at the time local or global: science, religion, feminism, colonialism, relationships, human behavior, emotions and personalities.
A section of the book covers the author’s research on the science of sight, the phenomena of nature called rainbows, light, electromagnetic spectrum and their metaphysical significance. This leads to a discussion of the chakras. She then uses the rainbow colors Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet to chronicle her musings, poetry, contemplations and additional soul searching processes. The reader will observe how she transcends with the energy frequency that each color brings. It is a sacred movement in the stages of life an evolution from self-awareness to self-actualization and then to empowerment. The level of disclosure may surprise and or shock the conservative reader but you are left with an understanding of the vibrancy, grace and molding of the author.
Comments: A Rainbow in Her Eye is “…full of passion, expression, lessons, and scientific knowledge which together unfolds elegantly. It is written poetically and unapologetically expressive. Not only talking about real issues, movements, and significant times in history, underneath the eloquent treasures there is also a call for self-reflection and action. You can read it multiple times, and each time receive different messages and jewels. It is an absolute treasure, and we can be grateful that Ms. Lucia has shared this amazing work of art.” Dez Baptist Castillo
“Heartfelt Congratulations to Lucia Regina Ellis on her sensitive, evocative and very insightful portrayal of a life very full and richly lived! It is not often that we are honored to have a Belizean woman of her experience share so openly the lessons and blessings of her life. Her combination of reflections, wisdom and literary nuggets gives much food for thought and makes “A Rainbow in her Eye” a distinct pleasure to read.” Zoila Ellis, Author
